SHAIKH KHALIL UR RAHMAN SAJJAD NOMANI
Shaikh Khalil-ur-Rahman Sajjad Nomani is a prominent Indian Islamic scholar, spiritual leader, author, founder of many educational institutions, chief editor of Al-Furqan, a leading Islamic magazine in Urdu, being published regularly since 1933. An alumnus of premier Islamic and modern educational institutes, he is well versed in both classical Islamic learning and modern disciplines. Shaikh Khalil-ur-Rahman is known for his interest in inter-faith dialogue and a special invitee to inter-religious conferences, within and outside the country. He is a visiting faculty of many local and foreign universities
He is a qualified spiritual guide, authorized by more than one Mashayakh of Chisti and Naqshbandi Mujaddidi school of Sufism to carry out spiritual guidance. Thousands of people flock to his spiritual center and thousands of others log on to the internet to listen to his live speeches. He has delivered speeches at many important places such as UnitedNations Organization (U.S.), University of Leeds (U.K.), and Stanford University(U.S), Fatih University (Turkey).
He is actively associated with organizations working for social upliftment & peaceful co-existence. Besides, he has personal contacts with many top ranking civil servants/bureaucrats as well as spiritual & political leaders in India and abroad. He has discussed various critical issues of social & national concern with several Presidents, Prime Ministers, Chief Ministers, & other leaders of national repute. Internationally, he has formally as well as informally interacted with many global leaders in various fields, all across the socio-politico-economic spectrum including former General Secretary of UNO as well.
Moreover, he is a keen observer of local and international political developments. He has written extensively on crucial political and social issues. Of late, he has shown special interest in studying and appreciating the leading role of the Turkish leadership and intelligentsia who have adopted a sensible & pragmatic approach in facing the modern-day challenges. He has educated his readers and audience about the transformation of Turkey as a role model for the Muslim World. He believes in gradual social change through continuous, peaceful & constructive efforts with a pragmatic approach.
He is a descendant of a distinguished family of Ulama and scholars with ancestral roots from Turkey.His father – Maulana Manzoor Nomani was a renowned Islamic scholar, theologian, journalist, writer,and social activist. He conveyed important and well-balanced Islamic views to masses through Al-Furqan – an Urdu monthly launched in 1933 – for more than five decades. This magazine is still in circulation Maulana Manzoor Nomani was the advisor and guardian of many Islamic institutions. He was not only trusted by many Islamic scholars and leaders of his time but also consulted by them in important political issues.His well-known book “Ma’arif Al-Hadith” is a proof of his dexterity in the science of Hadith. He has authored more than one hundred books on Islamic topics.
Shaikh Khalil Al-Rahman is the youngest child of his parents. He was born in 1955 at Lucknow, an important city in the state of UP in north India, famous for its educational institutions and cultural heritage. He opened his eyes in a highly scholarly environment. His father and Shaikh Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi, a famous Islamic scholar and historian were pivotal in his training and education.
He received his initial education from his illustrious father and formal education from renowned Islamic seminaries like Nadwat Ul-Ulama and Darul-Uloom Deoband. He went to Saudi Arabia to pursue further studies. He attended Madina University and was awarded a doctorate in Quranic Studies

This institution was established in 1995 at the behest of Qari Siddique Bandhvi, a well known Indian Islamic scholar and a champion of the poor and downtrodden. It was established to help the poor, orphans, widows, and the oppressed. It aims to alleviate the economic disparity, widespread destitution, ecological imbalance, malnutrition & afflictions thereby laying the foundations for the establishment of an equitable, egalitarian, prosperous, tolerant and educated society based on divinely ordained principles of spirituality, morality & justice.Rahman Foundation’s services were recognized by state and central governments. It received international recognition by UNICEF as well.
